I would pick up the Emil Lange, because its warm colour and romantic dial: a true dresswatch and supplements well the icecold Seiko. If it would be a one-watch project - if this category exists at all - my choice would be the Dato first generation: all-in... 

For Lange, think I would go with Lange 1 (everlasting classic), a model with moonphase (those stars ), or Dato (that movement). Lange 1 if it really has to come to only one, and Darth is a keeper. Good luck!

it is in my collection as it has the beautiful micro rotor and is the sole automatic among my Lange's. but as everyone is pointing out - it is not perhaps core Lange DNA

The Dato is a big watch, and with the Seiko you might want watch #2 to be a little more dressy. The L1 is most likely a better all rounder than the Emil, you could wear it every day. The Emil would seem a little more fancy, perhaps too much for every day ...

I prefer the dress watch to be pure and simple which means a 2 or 3 hand watch and no date. That is why I have the Langematik and the 1815 moon. And that is why one is in white gold and one is in rose gold. But with just a two watch collection, I think I ... 

you will hv an iconic design that is unique to Lange. I don’t know of any other watches with such off centre layout and yet somehow well balanced! My 2cents Best regards

It is an iconic piece from Lange and a true horological marvel, and deserves its place in any collection.

I will go for the Datograph U/D to complete the two watches collection. The Datograph to me, is the ultimate chronograph.
