5990A craziness
I have been trying to get a 5990 for some time with no success. The options available on Chrono are nothing leas than $110K. Is it really the value of the watch now? Is there something wrong going on the nautilus bubble?

Better not think about this pricing craze...
an Aquanaut 5167A can be higher than the Patek 3940 PC, 5205 AC or 5235 Regulator in precious metals and higher complications. It doesn’t make sense but what is, nowadays when companies are having lower revenues than previous year but stock prices higher?...
I don't think we should discuss secondary market prices here, also because all that can conceivably be said about this Nautilus craziness has already been said multiple times...
However, I can give you easy answers to your questions: Is [$110k] really the value of the watch now? Definitely not (in fact, its 51k-euro MSRP is more than enough, IMO, for a steel 5990). Is there something wrong going on [with] the Nautilus bubble? Yes...
Agreed, there is definitely an upside to this current situation. Only (almost) everybody seem to ignore it.
'Trend' is on stainless steel sportswatches like the earlier mentioned 5990a, for example. The upside is, IMHO, that prices of the (grand) complicated classic models are lower because of this. Demand is at this time not very high in this area of the marke...
People want what they want, but me personally? ...I can't fathom a circumstance where I'd buy the 5990 over a Patek perpetual calendar chrono
like the 5270 or 5970 (preowned, of course).
Any watch over retail - I wouldn’t go for it...with exception for vintages !
BTW the prices you see in chrono are often what someone likes to get not often what is paid 😈🤐
Have you got your Patek watches from an AD?
You have a quite a large Patek collection. If these were bought from 1-2 ADs, you should be on a realistic waitlist to get the 5990 within 1-2 years. Unless the market in UAE has gone absolutely crazy and only people with $1M spend at ADs are being given ...
I would be patient
It's what I'm doing with the AP 150202ST and the Daytona steel ceramic. It's not nice at all, but I'm not so crazy to pay over retail. And you have to push your AD, otherwise they'll "forget" your order.
