and especially before the long (casual) weekend ahead. Hope you don´t mind 
With the dark dial it looks a bit smaller, but that makes it even better for my wrist. The dial is less "iconic" then what we know from the Ref. 5980A, but I have a serious weakness for that kind of "understatement".
A look at the beauty of the movement ...
is something I appreciate as well.
Looking forward to see it again ... - hopefully some time soon.

and yes Nautiluses are built with water resistance and I understand that. Perhaps I didn't frame the question more clearly. There are case backs that look like the 5990 but they are not Nautiluses. So is it accurate to say that when one see such a casebac...
Water resistance can be more of an issue with the side push buttons.
The case back looks screwed in with a rubber gasket, which tends to offer good water penetration resistance against many atmospheres of pressure. In fact, higher the pressure, higher the gaskets are pressed on to provide greater seal. However, the o-rings...

The dial is not really a question, it is okay imho and suits you better than the older 5980 two tone. The problem , for me, comes from the case. It was lost in the process, the Nautilus is beautiful monobloc design, well it was. The way it is done here ch...

but I don´t agree to all of you points. The Ref. 5711 is a superb watch, but it lacks the ultimate class of the Ref. 3700 - even when it is more appropriate for todays needs and style. The Ref. 5980 offered totally new functions and neede two pushers for ...

Still your questiones are: "... how does it wear? Like a 5980 or smaller? Does it feel much more chunkybthan an AP Royal Oak chrono (39mm)?" It wears perfectly on my wrist, which is smaller than yours (about 6.7 compared to 7.2; +/-). Perfect with casual ...
