Three sizes of tyre?
How cool is that?
I know that the mantra of the era was lightness makes you go faster everywhere.
That may explain the smaller front tyre just big enough to do its job whereas the fat rear tyre has to lay down drive traction.
In the painting, it looks like three sizes of tyres with two different widths for the fronts?!?
Probably a perspective thing.
Its a bit like the human error this weekendat 2015 Belgian Grand Prix when Williams put on both yellow soft and white medium tyres on the front wheels after a pit stop!
