The AE can be criticised as an AP or PP copycat, of course, but it works for me: price, availability, screw-down crown, 100m water resistance, dial pattern, thickness below 10mm, nice blue lume, perfect fit on the wrist, everything is just fine for me. Ev...

I've read his rule before...
Not sure I fully agree - Blancpain 50 Fathoms have very high end movements in them but are generally 11-12 mm thick. But I do like thin watches. As I own multiple ultra thin watches myself.

Right. General idea is a better term for it.
As many Lange watches would have a hard time qualifying - although I would make an exception for the Langes.
The AE has dressy touches, which I like very much,
but it can also be worn pretty casually and intensively and I also like that (and don't mind the light scratches or hairlines which come with the intensive summer wearing).
