Phenomenal watch . . .
As always with Ferdinand Berthoud, this is an incredible timepiece. And no doubt, when seen in person, both the mechanics and the finishing are stunning.
While a new movement because of the flying tourbillon and stop seconds—two great additions—the layout is reminiscent of the prior iteration of the FB 2T. Here’s an example of the “final” version of that movement, in a similar case, and you can see how the layout aligns, especially when viewed from the back.

If I had the money - and that's a lot of it - I would only change the shape of the hour and minute hand to something more elegant.

It reminds me a little of the Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Chronometer with the ChronAP escapement... I think I might prefer it in the octagonal case like the FB1, but it looks great and I'm looking forward to seeing and handling it in the metal. Kind r...

Yes, impressive, but aesthetically, I prefer the AP, even if the finishing and technical
achievement isn't as great as the FB. Anyway, I'm not really into openwork dials and I don't like the movement to be displayed on the face of the watch. Just my preference, of course. Cheers, Emmanuel

Absolutely, very similar.
I like this semi-solid dial much better though. The new release, with the movement displayed on the dial side isn't at all for me. Best, Emmanuel

.... Timepiece and sought after brand in today's world of watchmaking. Truly marvelous in every possible way.
The watchmaking is fantastic.
But you really have to love openwork dials to enjoy such a piece. I personally don't respond at all to this aesthetic and I like the FB2RE with its solid enamel dial so much more (in fact I find this “dial” really ugly to be honest)... But it's only a mat...

The dial is so unorthodox it can almost pass as conventional! I just love it!
The watchmaking is phenomenal, I agree.
I’m personally not attracted from an aesthetic standpoint but I know it’s just me and my preference for the classic style and solid dials. Other than that, great watch indeed. Best, Emmanuel
I like it but
I think the pricing is very ambitious relative to what else is available in that range. Not big on those hands either. They look a little phat. Personally, I’d probably still go for a wacky Greubel in this price range.
