Chopard LUC has 2 lines (some say 3) of design philosophy on purpose.
The Classic line is as above. Something that will look good on your wrist when you are 21 years old until your are an octagenarian.
That is why the traditional Manufactures make watches like this: because a chunky X-treme Defy XL Governator Special would look stupid on a wrinkly old wrist 
and you could not pass it on to another generation because the chunky fad would have passed by then.
