A nice color scheme for the MM 🏁
But it suffers from the non-color matched date wheel like most in the series unfortunately 🤷🏻♂️ It would also be a lot nicer if the movement from the Purist 1963 was used, as was done once previously in a MM piece, albeit that would place it much higher ...
Yes, the date is definitely the recurring problem with MM watches.
The movement, as you say, reduces the horological appeal, but improves the price appeal...
Although on that front the inflation at Chopard…

Nowadays I rarely use a fountain pen
But as an object the Carene is probably my favorite design, it reminds me of the great era of speed such as streamlined cars from the 30s like delahaye and bugatti, cruiseliners of the first half of the 20th century or of the concorde plane.
That's a beauty
Black and gold were my colors going thru high school and uni, if I had to buy a Carene today I may go for the Essence du bleu model.
