Makes the heart beat faster - The Chopard Superfast 8HF
Chopard is - as far as I know - the only watch manufacture producing 8Hz movements, and several Purists are happy owners of the LUC 8HF.
Now it would have been surprising if this technical marvel remained limited to the 125 units in titanium and the 250 in ceramic / titanium.
So Chopard launched a further limited edition of 100 units in the Superfast family during the last Le Mans race, coinciding with the 19th victory of Chopard partner Porsche.
I recently had the chance to try it on, too.

The watch is quite a bit larger and significantly sportier than the LUC 8HF but shares the lug design specificity of Chopard watches that makes even 45 and 46mm models perfectly wearable even for those with smaller wrists.
At the same time it remains unmistakably a sports watch, unlike the LUC 8HF, which is more versatile.
The unmistakable centrepiece of the watch remains that unbelievable 'superfast' movement. Hearing its frenetic beat is simply spectacular - 5Hz watches are cool but this is beating another 60% faster. Needs to be heard to be believed...
Now a chronograph at 8Hz is what we can all continue to hope for next.
