Chopard

An 8Hz chrono, I'm with you!

My own 8Hz has been a real pleasure, and I am proud I made the jump on it sight unseen at the time.  I would not trade it for this Porsche 919 model, but if I were in to those cars this new model might appeal to me.

Thanks for the photo report!

I know you do!

As your posts on it amply demonstrate smile

It is in a way a very different beast from the LUC 8HF but has one element the latter lacks - a fully transparent case back, as opposed to a porthole smile

A little "in your face" but somehow still very cool.

I'm not a big race fan or I might pursue this one.

There's still the non-race related LUC 8HF :)

In a smaller size, more versatile...

Yes, I have been looking for a "decent" chrono and 8HF chrono (ideally, a L.U.C) would be perfect!!

When I saw this 8HF Superfast, I really, really from the bottom of my heart wished it had been a chronograph.....

Let's hope, guys, it happen next year or so?

That would make my collection perfect (for now)...

Ken

Fully with you there, Ken!

Let's all keep fingers crossed here 👍🏻

Not convincing enough as a second Chopard Superfast to me..

... but this HF movement really haunts me.

Really interested in the idea and lets see any possible further developments.

Cheers and thanks for trying it on for us,
Kolosstt

Thanks Kolosstt!

I personally prefer the LUC 8Hz over this one. Always thought Chopard is more suited to the more understated , clean and elegant designs.

If I want a shouty, bold looking sports watch, I'd go for Rolex DSSD or Omega Seamaster planet ocean. Instantly more recognizable .

It's a psychological thing, all depends on what you desire and what you want to express. When you wear a dressy, very elegant piece , you appear more approachable , more restrained, people tend to observe more into the little things and usually will leave a deeper impression, a pleasant conversation starter.

A DSSD or a big red &black seamaster on the other hand, is always there to be seen, like carrying a 20kilo gold bullion whenever you go. Could be a good thing, it all depends

I am fully with you there :)

The LUC would definitely still be my preference amongst the two for very much the reasons you described. I much prefer my watch not sending any obvious messages to the majority of people wink
