Dear Mike,
Thank you for the recent report of the LUC Chopard XP Skeletec, whose skeletonised movement is based on the cal 9.96.

I note with interest your observation that the micro-rotor 'wobble' is diminished in the sample you examined.
I must admit that I was not as displeased by the same tiny "chirp" from my original LUC 16/18860/1 watch with cal 1.96.

I used it as a reassuring cue that the rotor was actually moving. It was so small and silent that the occasional 'chirp' did not bother me at all.
I agree that the new XP Skeletec is a clever solution for the dilemma of seeing the skeletonised movement and the poor legibility of time reading with no dial.
The half-dial is brilliant and there is precedence in the Chopard past portfolio, that had a thin rim of "dial" for the time indicators, albeit with a hand wound movement..

Regards,
MTF
