Thanks for sharing the impressions of your visit! My "problem" with Chopard: I still concieve them more as makers of jewellery (rings, necklaces, brooches etc.) than as watchmakers. Considering this, I am not surprised they make their own gold. But regard... 

...until I got acquainted with the LUC line! That's haute horlogerie at its truest form.

The term Manufacture is so widely used today that it is becoming all too common. Given this fact, watch companies that actually alloys their own gold should almost be given a special reverence! Thanks for the photos Jon of this wonderful watch factory in ...

Chopard continues to impress at every turn. They are a great manufacture. I hope to add an L.U.C. watch to my own collection someday. There are many desirable pieces in the collection IMO. Thanks for the great post! Cheers, Daos
