I feel most oversized, highly-complicated watches like your Chopard are more of demonstration of manufacturer's watchmaking prowess and not really intended to be worn frequently. I am guessing that most of these spend their life in watch boxes and safes, ... 

I can understand their desire to make a flagship wristwatch complication. I'm not going to lie...it's nice to know that I'm wearing the most complicated watch they've ever made.

It really does add a different dimension, one you never read in traditional watch magazine reviews and that is very valuable. I hope that the watch has not been fully relegated to the safe and that it still regularly sees the light of day, even if not as ...

But it honestly feels better to wear something lighter on a regular basis. Maybe you'll get a chance to wear this one...I move around between LA/NY/DC a fair amount.

give me a couple days to take some photos to show what I want to talk about, but the bottom line is that from a jewelry perspective, the watch is well done. They did some very cool things that you notice when you look closely.

So, I thought you would appreciate a close up of the dial, which I really like. As I mentioned (but should have provided photos of) the "sun ray" detail is a really subtle way to bring your eye to the date window. The second item I wanted to show in detai...  

Really a dream watch made by Chopard and happy to have an owner like you amongst us. The dial Sun Ray is certainly one of the most appealing effects known from high class Chopard pieces. Absolutely unique is the back and the shown complication. I\'d reall... 

I’d have thought sticking with the straight 22 or a taper to 20mm would’ve been more harmonious with the case dimensions.

Edit: I'm embarrassed that I forgot what size strap *I had just picked up* was. The strap I'm using is a 22/18 tapered strap, *but*, it's not bad. If Cartier had a 20mm roadster (santos? whatever.) strap, I would consider installing it, but I don't think ... 

Admittedly it is a smaller watch but the taper is still relatively slight visually and it works really well! But Chopard makes a 22/18 at any rate and a deployant clasp for it, too

I suppose to keep brand integrity I should consider that option in the future, but the Cartier deployment is in my opinion brilliant, as it holds both strap ends to the clasp, and gives you a little extra security.
