I was surprised because I was thinking like a marketing director
Jun 19, 2014,19:01 PM
Putting on my marketing hat and concerned about project timelines, I was prepared to compromise on some items.
Luckily, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele is a no compromise PuristS-type and he insisted on doing things right.
In fact, he extended the R&D period to get the winding "feel" just right....we were a bit surprised that the piece was ready for Baselworld 2014.
It was "down to the wire" as everyone got it to the Show on time. Only one piece was ready and stayed on his wrist. Only select clients and dealers saw it at the show.
Regards,
MTF

Chopard LUC 1963: even newer chronograph movement
By: MTF : June 18th, 2014-16:36

I am slightly surprised that you really thought that they would simply leave the date disc without a date window and not modify the setting mechanism. No Swiss "quality" brand would ever do that (not even Tissot or Longines). What Chopard did is putting a...
I was thinking of the money and hence my surprise
By: MTF : June 22nd, 2014-02:35
Goldenlutin, Thanks for your further insight about other Swiss makers like Longines and Tissot. I know nothing about those as I have never seen their factories. I have seen both manufactures of Chopard (Fleuriers and Geneva); I looked for and found two ke...

And a special development for the PuristS edition. A really stunning piece and movement. Cheers Andrew
True PuristS should
By: MTF : June 26th, 2014-23:46
Andrew, Its not orange but all true PuristS should get one if only to acknowledge the purist gesture by Chopard and Mr Scheufele. One design cannot satisfy all the people all the time but hopefully the unique background and affiliation can appeal to some....
Its a cracking piece...

and I seriously like it and would love to own one. However, I am going through a task of actually culling my non-orange pieces to make space for new incoming ones and am trying to stop myself (it's not easy) just buying beautiful watches because I have to...
