Chopard

I am slightly surprised...

I am slightly surprised that you really thought that they would simply leave the date disc without a date window and not modify the setting mechanism. No Swiss "quality" brand would ever do that (not even Tissot or Longines). What Chopard did is putting a plate to cover the empty space left over after removing the parts of the date mechanism. Nothing to get excited about. The real (let's call it Purist) high-end approach would have been to make a NEW main plate WITHOUT the unnecessary drillings, holes and disc space (space where the disc turns on the movement) from the date mechanism, not to simply cover these with a plate.

It is not always easy to be a Purist smile
