Choosing an L.U.C in the first place ...
already takes lot of confidence.
It is not a brand you see a lot of people wearing it (or even knows it) , and those who wear them tend to be contrarians.
I share the same thoughts as Kari, Jed and Daos.
A Classic is evergreen, but may be boring. However, 'exciting pieces' may be dramatic but will fizz out soon.
Perhaps your friends may call you a genius, if the trend is turning to smaller diameter 
Ultimately, you are wearing the watch, and may have to see daily for a
while, would you like it?
It is not so much if your friends like it.

That's a tough one.
