All LUCs moving to Lucent Steel?

Jun 03, 2023,04:38 AM

Hi All,

I haven't posted here before.

I noticed on the Chopard website that all the LUC watches in steel now show in their title/description Lucent Steel. I haven't been able to find a press release indicating that all LUC watches are now in Lucent Steel - although I admit I didn't look very thoroughly. Has anyone heard anything?

Also, I thought I would add a little world time action - Paris time for Roland Garros.

Any more picture or comments on the case? I have been looking at the gmt version here as I want a Ti watch, I believe this is ceramized Ti? How does it hold up to daily wear, if the finish gets chipped is it the same color throughout?

Here you are

The sport 2000 has a black dial and has just been serviced. It is interesting to see the change in design philosophy. I believe that the case is not a ceramic outer - I believe like the Jaeger-LeCoultre watches. I believe that it is a layer on top of the ...

Thanks for your input

Sadly we don't see many of these models, so it is always nice to get an owner perspective

Probably carburized titanium

That LUC world time looks really cool, curious if the case holds up well to use. If it were in (zirconia) ceramic I probably would go for one. My concern with carburized or nitrided titanium is that the underlying titanium is going to be more bruise prone...

Thank you!

I just watched the apline eagle video about this new material. I would like to see this steel in person Kudos to Chopard for innovating this traditional case material. MSB
