L.U.C. Louis-Ulysse, The Tribute

Jan 16, 2012,09:23 AM

I recently purchased my wife a Chopard La Vie en Rose Happy Diamonds watch. Unfortunately, I went back to the boutique and tried on the Tribute watch. I was more than impressed. The dial, case and movement are sublime. The finishing on the movement is very reminiscent of one hundred year old Vacherons and Patek pocket watches.

My question is has anyone acquired one of these beauties?
What are other peoples thoughts on this watch.
Am I alone in my admiration of this watch?

I am very close to purchasing the watch, can ANYONE talk me out of it. PLEASE!

Okay, the first step is to admit I have a problem.
But I like my problem.

Thanks in advance.

Mike S.

...I had the pleasure of strapping one on my wrist at IGOTT2. I share your admiration for the watch. It is very handsome and nicely finished. What I like about it most is the connection to both the Scheufele and Chopard families. As I recall, the mechanis...

Thanks for your prompt response. I think my collection of other watches qualifies me for membership status at WCA ( watch collectors anonymous ) My next step is to find a sponsor. There probably aren't many here. Mike

I saw it in the window the Chopard shop at Place Vendome. The watch is to die for, to bad the shop was closed otherwise I might have been tempted to go try it on. Seriously it looked wonderful and the craftsman's ship divine. I would get it if I were you....

Die is the problem.

I love this watch too much. It is not a rational choice (which watch actually is rational). I can not get it out of my mind when I close my eyes at night. Especially the warm golden glow of the movement with the cool nickel layer on top of the bright gold...

Mike, you have a happy problem.

I had the pleasure to try it on recently in Chopard boutique in Malaysia. My initial concern is its size. Surprisingly and strangely, it sits well on my wrist and very wearable. It therefore eliminates my initial concern. It has big chunk of gold and heav...

This watch is really tempting... you really only have one issue. the brand. This is the sobering part of certain amazing watches by certain brands that just have no 'street cred' (Sorry!) I love the level of quality and beauty on Chopards. I owned a LUC Q...
