I have been trying to find out more information on this rare tank basculante but there has been little written on it. And if it was only for the French market, better still - more rare and collectible!! I love the tank basculante with the exception of the position of the winding crown which makes it a challenge to wind which is why I sold mine. But now with this ultra rare version with a small transparent case back, the search for one begins!! It is quite interesting that Hodinkee when comparing the watch with a Reverso concluded that the Frederic Piguet movement on the Cartier looked a lot better than the JLC movement

Unfortunately, it’s not a LE if I’m right but this specific reference (with a see through back) has only been made for the French market to my knowledge
If you check well known selling watch websites, you won’t find a lot of this one (both in steel and yellow gold) compared to the other Tank Basculante references. Best wishes Alkiro

I agree with you about the crown. It is hard to manipulate and breakable (I heard several issues about it).
The FP mouvement is a very thin one and nicely embellished here with the Cartier monogram. It’s a very cool little watch for me. I prefer the steel version rather than the yellow gold one (too formal for me). Well, I wish you a good hunt now 😉 Best wishes...
