Cartier

Tank L.C. Large

Part of Cartier's 100th Anniversary Tank releases is the "Large", which is not so large. In a nod to the first Tanks this one is 33.7mm in height. It's slightly larger than the L.C. that had been gin the catalog before the XL. The XL, released in 2012, is 40mm-more suited to modern tastes, presumably. However, and my wrist is not small, I think this size sits better on the wrist (my wrist) than the 40; especially so since the case is flat.

(I allowed it some gin.)

The guilloche dial returns with this model, and it retains the beaded crown-traditional to the Tank when many other Cartier's changed to a faceted, and flatter, crown.

The caseback is solid, as it traditionally has been. So we can't see the movement-an in-house 8971MC hand wound affair.

All in all this "Large" Tank is a very fitting 100th Anniversary watch. Cartier got this right.

Cheers.
