For what it is, a classic, formal watch, the Tank LC works perfectly. With the right attire it is at home, as this picture show (though the watch is Tank Normale rather than LC the size is similar). It's on the wrist of MD of Cartier UK at Cartier Polo 2011, shown below with HRH Prince Philip.
Perhaps you want to think about a vintage looking strap like the one shown below, it will complement the styling of the Tank LC quite well.
