Dear Forumners, At Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2004 (SIHH), Cartier is presenting more than 90 new timepieces! Obviously, we have to focus on a few select novelties at a time. In the run up to the SIHH, FrX and I have been "refreshing our m...
... another perpetual that can be corrected forward and backward! I love the mechanics, and I love the design, BUT: Even on the oversized picture on my screen I really had to concentrate on the calendar rings to find the small blue brackets around the var...
The Cartier team development is just amazing! they are competing with big names for years ( design & movement) ! Thank you for your post. Regards, TGV ps: any idea of the cost??
I would have to give this one an ALMOST YAY. I am not as perturbed by the readability of the calendar as Marcus but see that as more of the fun. The issue I have is that so much of the hour/minute dial is eaten away by the wonderful concentric rings of th...

I agree with Marcus. Going beyond aesthetics, I am now wondering what other types of future design can come out of this concentric platform. I think that is where the appeal to me comes from. Maybe there is a variation that's just for a day-date without a...
Echi, We are possibly coming out of the recession...hmm...maybe.... Certainly, the established brands are confident with some (very) positive rebounds in Japan and USA that offset the downturn in China due to political clampdown on luxury. So, you could b...
I think with Ms Forestier in place Cartier are really showing some of the more established 'Haute' manufacturers the way to go. Just one thing, it would be nicer if the rings rotated and you read from the top of them, so in the first picture it would be M...
tim, Thnks for your suggestion. Actually the display rings were chosen becaue of a simple reason: The larger rings carry a higher number scale. Thus, largest ring has 31 dates, middle ring has 12 months and smallest ring has 7 days. Regards, MTF
