Will try to comment more on this later, but basically, the Breguet "daytona"

are the original A.L. Breguet pocket watches.
Liquidity is the forgotten variable in most "holds its value" discussions - how easy is it to sell at market price when you want to sell?
Breguet is too much of a boutique brand to offer the same sort of liquidity as Rolex, or Patek, for that matter.
If you buy at a fair discount based upon current retail prices, keep it in good condition, you should do alright if you ever need to resell.
What is a fair discount? Shop around and decide based not only on dollar, but also service and quality of purchasing experience.

I'd just like to add my 2 cents, and I'll try to keep it short. I wrote at lenght on this subject on the TZ Breguet forum. Patek, ie the Sterns, created the preceived value of older Pateks by buying them up for their own collection and/or their museum. Th...

the self-winding system. In fact, Breguet's claim was to have perfected the system ie made it work. As Thomas says, the idea most likely came from working with other watchmakers in the area, quite possibly Perrelet. The system, as also mentioned by Thomas...
