any collector would be happy to wear. They are beautiful, and have a history that is so special. You now will be part of that history. First of all, i dont care if rolex were to hold its value better or people pay more. Rolex doesnt hold a candle to Breguet, and I happen wear a rolex explorer as my beater watch most days. You may have acted quickly, but you certainly acted intelligently. I imagine you would have to search long and hard in this forum for a collector who prefers rolex to breguet. The classic line is awesome(my favorite), enjoy it and don't look back.

buy a watch if it puts a smile on your face but forget the whole thing about holding value, the only brands where the watch usually holds value are Patek and Rolex and all depends on the model so go for what you like and enjoy

Thankyou for your replies. I guess I'm really looking for some moral support to justify the decision to spend ?8,900 on something that 'makes me smile' that will work on the wife! I'm fully aware of the financial gains to be had by buying the 'right' mode...
