While technically NOT a complication, please consider this...

Complicated: To build

Complicated: To pay for
Complicated: To service
Complicated: To justify the price to your wife, non-watch lovers
Complicated: To explain how it works (for some)
Complicated: To pronounce (I hear TUR-BILL-EE-YON all the time)

This watch in particular holds some major personal nostalgia points. In the early 2000s, shortly after I first learned about TURBILLEEYONS and horology in general, I took my first ever trip to Europe. At the Breguet Boutique in Place Vendome I can remember seeing this watch in the window and just being in awe. At the time I considered myself way too unworthy to walk in and experience what else the Boutique had to offer. I'll never forget seeing the watch in the window and thinking to myself how unbelievably sophisticated and expensive the watch looked, commensurate with Place Vendome and Paris in general. A far departure from the flip flop wearing beach town I call home. Thanks for posting this one, Nico.

Please allow me, for once, to call it by its reference, not by its name, because I never understood how you can call a Tourbillon a Complication, even less a Grande Complication, so do we go for 1801? 1801 is a much better reference name, since this watch...

Very nice...

that was a big watch 'back in the day.' It would be interesting if the oval on the front were left blank so an owner could personalize it (initials, monogram, etc.). Very classy.

Understand your point...

but would prefer that the entire cover is guilloche instead.

+1. Agree. [nt]

Although I admire this watch immensely, and would indeed love to own one, I find it odd that they would conceal the tourbillion with a cover...

...but then engrave it as if to say, "yes, there's a tourbillion hidden under here". Impressive none the less.

when I see such pieces, what comes into my mind....

is 'definitions'.....for example a definition of 'the trinity'.....it's just funny, simply funny that Breguet is not included there and other brands are....and I just ask myself on which basis??...I simply look at those creations and I could just imagine ...

like in anything else, there are the pioneers...

those that invent, that show and pave the way...and those that join afterwards....in horology, Breguet is one of the single still living pioneers.....a pleasure.....

thank you Nicolas....but,

I think to attribute Breguet only the Tourbillon, would be really an under-estimation.... as history teaches us, I think horologic pillars like the perpetual calendar, the first wrist watch, first seeds of an automatic movement....that's all goes back to ...

.... Sooooooo Breguet. I mean, ABRAHAM LOUIS. If you look at some of the stuff he did in the late 1700's, the DNA is obvious. I think you have fallen hard for this brand.
