Type XXI subdial question

Apr 16, 2020,23:50 PM

Hi Guys, I have always been puzzled as to why my type XXI has a subdial that indicates if it is day or night (subdial on the right)? Unless you have been on an extended pub crawl surely you will always know if it is day or night? I would be very interested to hear from anybody who can tell me if they have ever had to use this subdial and under what circumstances! Many thanks, Steve

...I have never, ever read on any review wether said 24hr indicator is fixed to the main time movement or if it operates independently, and thus can be used for a true second time zone. Can anyone confirm this???

It is fixed so

The day night indicator on this watch is important as it’s a pilots watch. Pilots work on UTC when they are flying this stands for “coordinated universal time” and is a universal time zone that means that they don’t have to change time zones as they fly t...
