That does sound odd...
Hello blenny 100
Does your wife's watch have a power reserve indicator?
If yes, when you took it off the automatic winder did it appear to have a full wind?
When the mainspring in a watch runs down, or has a low power reserve. The watch will run fast, because of a lack of motion/or low amplitude of the balance wheel.
Although, I have no personal experience with this particular model of Breguet, it maybe possible that the Autowind mechanism may require more than just a slow gentle turning to wind the mainspring. When a watch is worn on the wrist, it receives more energetic movement than automatic winders are designed to do.
Just a thought.
Kind regards
Anthony
