it is my understanding that Breguet had some troubles with perfecting the movement. It is really quite impressive s 72vph movement. 1/20th of a second. the closest large scale production watch is the el primero.
looks like the original prototype had a 60 second counter at the 12 o'clock position so one would know how many seconds have elapsed as the chrono second hand goes around the dial once every 30 seconds rather than once every 60 seconds. on the released version, Breguet uses the 60min man axis counter to show if the watch is in the first 30 seconds or second 20 seconds of the min. I think the white is the first 30 seconds and the red is the second.
i think this is an amazing achievement to have a production watch at 10hrz and I do not think this brand gets enough credit for it.
i would love to buy one but it is too big for my little wrist. Type XXI is about the limit. I wish Breguet came out with this Type XXII at a more reasonable size.
