Good to hear from you.  Hope all is well.  I agree that we are only hearing one side of the story, but what a story!  Anyway, all's well that ends well.  Truth be told,  I always tend to champion the underdog. smile
Best to all,

 By: mustu : February 26th, 2007-00:50
hello every one.I have had very very bad time dealing with breguet. The watch was purchased from a breguet store and it was sold in a defective condition. The ref is 5157 in white gold.I cannot belive how a company can do this. The watch would not start aft...

Umm...not sure what to say about this

 By: AnthonyTsai : February 26th, 2007-07:45
You've made some sweeping generalizations about Breguet and even Swatch just from a single incident. I don't know the entire story here cause we haven't heard Breguet's side, but it seems as if you must have reallllllly pissed them off if Hayek even reque...

well here is more

 By: mustu : February 26th, 2007-10:47
Well fine I do understand that there can be a chance of products being defective.Want to hear more. The brand manager told be that watches are like cars and after you buy them you may need to bring them in for a service like car. That is totally crazy.I hav...

Relax... it is not that uncommon....

 By: happy_wis : February 26th, 2007-17:04
I'm sorry to hear that but I think it happens in the real world Having bad experience in watch shops is not that uncommon... I believe that it is mainly because: 1. The shop manager / sales don't know their stuffs 2. The shop manager / sales believe that ...

I once sent a very fine watch that ran perfectly to someone and by the time it got there

 By: jasny : February 26th, 2007-22:37
it would not run right. It was such a problem the company replaced it under warranty. I believe that shipping can be tough on some watches. Also mechanical watches need service no matter who makes it. A very large watch dealer told me that the only watch ...

Well I have got my refund

 By: mustu : February 26th, 2007-23:05

 By: happy_wis : February 27th, 2007-00:14

im sorry but ur being naive if you think swatch group actually cares about that kind of things,,,they just answer because they have to, the luxury watch industry has never been as good as this so they just dont care because they are selling their watches ...

Why do you hide you name

 By: mustu : February 27th, 2007-06:56
Why do you hide your name I guess you must work for them ? Ha ha well If there are many people ready to buy their watches good for them and too bad for the people who do. I was talking to a top manufacturer today and he clearly said that breguet is not wh...

Why is everyone blaming the victim?

 By: Westlawnyc : February 27th, 2007-18:26
At face value, this man has been given the run around. True, the AD may have been the cause of all the problems but the AD is the "face" of the company. Newbie or not (I do not know the extent of this man's collection) the AD should have done EVERYTHING p...

what victim?

 By: ei8htohms : February 27th, 2007-19:15
Hi West, Feeling let down when one buys an expensive timepiece and it has a problem is completely understandable. These are complicated, hand assembled devices and will always have a greater than 0% failure rate. That's why a warranty period exists. Going...

By far...your post...

 By: asg : February 28th, 2007-08:45
Is the best one I have ever read! SIHH COMPLAINING DAY!!!! I'd pay money for a seat to listen to people whine and complain....the best comedy in the world!!!! Not to cause trouble, but I recently purcahsed a watch which some would argue as being from the ...

Staff at breguet no coming on the phone.

 By: mustu : February 28th, 2007-09:33
If one can afford or not it not the point. Its about after sales service. When they can treat a customer like crap and blame the customer with out looking at the problem then they have major issue's which they need to deal with. If i was told that please a...

Typical lawyer

 By: autowind : February 28th, 2007-22:00
before anyone decides to file a law suit or ask Congress to enact some new legislation to protect the underdog, I'd like to hear the other side of the story. I doubt we'll get that opportunity because it is unlikely Breguet is going to debate this in publ...

if the watch was abused why would they refund my amount

 By: mustu : February 28th, 2007-22:23
Hello If the watch was abused why would they refund my amount. Guy you are not getting my point here. The level of service I recived is what I am troubled about.I did not care about the watch not working cause I know they would fix it or so. The watch was ...

May I ask...

 By: happy_wis : February 28th, 2007-22:53
for more details about the problem of your returned Breguet? Is it like this: - The watch was running fine until all its power was used up. - Then you wound the watch manually but the watch was still not working (as you can see the balance was not moving ...

May I ask

 By: mustu : March 1st, 2007-02:21
Well if the watch would start working it would keep perfect time. Once the power was used up then and after winding the watch it would not start. It would also not start unless you moved the hours hands. Once or twice it did start when you shook the watch....

Damn proud to be a "Typical Lawyer". nt

mustu, was this AD in Dubai?

 By: mbogo : March 2nd, 2007-10:55
I'm flying there next week, and want to be sure that I don't deal with them if they are the ones who mishandled this affair. Thanks, George

This has gone too far

 By: autowind : March 2nd, 2007-13:28
Let's not malign someone just because one person may or may not have had a problem. We still don't know both sides of the story. Anyone could post about a bad experience real or not and no one would know the difference. Perhaps it's time to close this thr...

Or get Congress to enact a law? :) nt

Ok guys, i´d guess all points are made. Let´s move on.

 By: PeterCDE : March 3rd, 2007-21:01
G'day, i´d guess all points are made; the "other side of the story" of Breguet/SwatchGroup/Retailer is unlikely to be present in a public medium, therefore further spinning forth this exchange is unlikely to result in something productive for anyone invol...
