There are multiple reasons…

… for one I like those Tribute pieces which aren’t trying too hard to get as close as possible to the inspirational vintage watch. To me that’s the ideal combination of modern and past day Blancpain.

To my eyes the dials of the non Hodinkee watches are more refined. Also the hands have the correct dimensions.

And when it comes to the No Rad it is the overall outstanding look, it is now probably my favorite 40mm FF.

All those aspects are a very personal view of course.

I did own the 45mm Tribute to Fifty Fathoms and it did not do the trick for me, the size being one thing, the green Luminova being another. Again, an individual perspective.

Cheers
Henrik

... of two desirable watches. Do you have a preference between the two?

Mind if you share why you choose that between the two? Also, have you owned/handled the 45mm 2010 no rad version? If so, would like to hear comparison between those 2 no rads too.

This is helpful. I was aware the Hodinkee one has an odd shaped hour hand and assumed the no rad was the same. Good to know that the no rad has right dimensions. Couldn't tell from this pic angle. What color is the lume on the dial and bezel of this no ra...

I see...

One more comparison request...disregarding the size of the 45mm No Rad, which dial do you like better between the 45mm and 40 mm No rad?

Missed my chance

The Blancpain x Hodinkee is by far my favorite and a missed opportunity.

Very interesting comparison, dear Henrik!

And you can see clearly how much purer (and better) the dial without date looks. I am eagerly waiting for a version with a plain, simple, reduced dial - no Milspec, no „No Radiations“, just a „simple“ 5015 without date. It also can have a 45 mm case. And ...
