It really gives us a unique opportunity to compare and contrast. There are definitely a lot of differences between the two references and I think there's a place for both. Personally, I like the Hodinkee version better with the bare-minimal text on the dial and all the fonts being different and smaller - including the bezel. Can't go wrong with a fully brushed case either. Another owner of this watch posted that the H version does not have hacking seconds. Does the Tribute have hacking seconds? I'm assuming they have the same base movement but the Tribute has the date mechanism. My other question is: are mil-spec watches supposed to have hacking seconds?
