… namely the L‘Evolution Grande Date 8 Jours. It’s more a concept watch than a timeless classic, with a lot of interesting and well executed details.
The 43.5mm case picks up the typical double ring bezel, but it goes totally new ways when it comes to the removable bold lugs.
The open worked dial plays with the traditional 2100/Leman Roman numerals and movement decorations in form of Geneva stripes and perlage, while the 8 day caliber based on the well known 1315 and equipped with a titanium balance shows a more unique and modern finish:
It’s a controversial design, and it was not exactly a huge success. But it represents a time of innovation and creativity besides the established routes. Maybe it was just ahead of its time?
