I've been enjoying the Fifty Fathoms and hope to see some new owners on WPS soon based on some of the recent threads ...  

I am also very drawn to the Grand Date FF. Your opinions?

While the symmetry of the big date is very nice I would miss the big chunky polished 3, 6, 9, and 12 hour markers which add a lot of lume and actually are a little uncommon, it's not often that you see a watch with white gold lume filled applied numerals ...

On the wrist the black impressed me more but I would lose the transparant case back. Plus: I have a lot of black dial watches incl an 4500v Overseas that the FF would have to compete with. Going to try them on again tomorrow and bite the bullet.

If you go steel, I'm really liking the way the deployant buckle helps to control the watch head. Less so from the added the weight but more having that structure on the strap on opposite the watch to keep it from rotating on my wrist. Another thing to try...
