4 out of 5 of my beloved Vintage Fifty Fathoms on some old french centimes... The Early Fifity Fathoms: An early Rotomatic Incabloc: Pakistani? Here you are. Almost exuberant, compared to its " sisters ": And, to end in beauty, the AM 103: Best, Nicolas...
Love the watches very much and what a good idea to put them on these coins, beautiful colour constrat. Now, why is it called Pakistani? and I see 3 out of 4 are milspec were Blancpain big in manufacturing pieces for the military in particular? Kind regard...
It is called Pakistani, because it was used by the Pakistan Army. Here is a picture of the case back, qhowing the Pakistani Logo, the P with an arrow: http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/5320/milspecarrow17.jpg And yes, Blancpain provided watches to severa...
So would you have the same for other armies, I mean you call the Pakistani.....Pakistani, would one been built for say the American army be called the American, or for the English army the English in the collectors jargons?
For example, those which were in use in the US army were the Tornek Rayville, the US NAVY, and the Milspec. Fro the German Army, it is called No Rad Bund. For the French Army, it doesn't have a specific name, as you will find early FFs such as the Rotomat...
Which generally refer to as the 4 o'clock crown bund, or 3H bund. But it certainly no where as gorgeous as either of these beauties. Great shots Nicolas - what we could call 'the money shot' ;-) Cheers Tony

it was confirmed by BP. i remember when it was sold and the discussion on MWR, but forgot the outcome. any confirmed roots? thank you for your time. kind regards. achim
I didn't post the review on the AM yet, but will do in September. One thing is sure, I tried to find out the signification about AM, I didn't find nothing, and I tried hard. Definitiely not American Military. A... Mystery? :) Best, Nicolas.
a military issued watch. AM is no military watch , as far as i know. the issued pakistani case looks like the BUND case , crown at 3. even the german navy had different cases at different times issued. i think, the AM pre-date`s the issued pakistani BP. i...
Which makes me say that the AM is different from the Pakistani Milpsec is that on this last one, you have the Pakistani symbol ( P with an arrow above ) engraved on the case back AND on the plate, while on the AM, you don't have these details. On the Bund...
I found that, during my last holidays... http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/3761/unboat.jpg Ulysse Nardin told me that there was no relation between them and the boat. :) Best, Nicolas ...
.. Though having a twist to it However, the younger generations, our kids might have a completely different view to this. I can just see my girlfriend. Much younger than me :-), just 30. I gave her a vintage Rolex but she prefers a Fossil or just watching...
