I personally find this watch nothing short of FABULOUS !
Especially the blue version with the grey ceramic case. MARVELLOUS !
Technically and design-wise it is the perfect purposeful, no-nonsense watch.
It marries toolishness and elegance.
It is so perfectly balanced that one glimpse is enough to know that everything is as it has to be.
The level of finishing, for a sporty model, is just amazing.
The angular case, the lugs, are a joy to look at and touch.
The lume is excellent (lume is very very important to me in a sports watch, a field in which many high names still fail, IMO).
Thanks to its features, could it possibly be considered THE VERY BEST true sports chronograph in the world?
What about robustness? What "structural" differences are there in this new movement, compared to the usual Frédéric Piguet movement used by Blancpain until now?
Not referring to the silicon or the 5hz, but to structural differences. Is it as new as the Cal. 315 was?
What other, non-Blancpain, models are going to be equipped with this new movement? Some Breguet Type XX perhaps, as the logic of economy of scale within the group would dictate?
I am especially curious to know better this movement, as i have just purchased the standard grey dial on satinized steel version of this model (!!!)
[It was love at first sight and i had to take the plunge...]
Not as beautiful as the Ocean Commitment, but getting very close ;-)
Photos coming soon..............
As much as i like the FF Ref. 5015 (as an owner myself), i really love this new Bathyscaphe range of Blancpain. They are more wearable than the 2007 standard 45mm, and more understatedly classy, IMHO.
The highest level quality is there, but it doesn't shout. I adore this balance!
Looking forward to getting those technical elements that i don't have yet, if someone knows...
Thanks,
Frank
