Blancpain

On my wishlist for further exploration, a visit to the Vintage Atelier at Blancpain in Le Brassus was very high up... and now I had the chance to meet with the team that takes care of all Blancpain timepieces prior to 1981. And of course I’d like to take ...

Shamefully, I didn't know about this place. Wonderful. I wonder whether or how they "restore" those vintage pieces.... Some people firmly believe that restoring is "sin" ) Awesome!! Ken

... if a collector decides to go that route. The Atelier manager mentioned the UNESCO charter of restoration for cultural heritage, e.g. fine arts, which influenced the Blancpain Vintage Atelier‘s own ethics charter. The beliefs how to treat a vintage wat... 

That is the wish of the owner vs. atelier's policy. And if atelier accepts, it is not against the policy which the atelier believes would not "damage" the heritage. That is reassuring. Thank you, Henrik! Ken

This post brings and shows the true spirit and mystery of Blancpain which I believe many of us feel and love. It is partly in contrary to the current collection, routing of the brand, marketing, market and product positioning despite there are still some ... 

I as was surprised to hear the restoration shop has some original blancpain parts . I alway heard there was nothing left of the old inventory but glad there are parts left to restore our old watches. Brian

... and he allowed me to share the information that they hold dials, bezels and crowns in stock, not for each and every version, but some for even the extremely rare pieces. Whenever there is no stock and there is no way of getting hold of it, the Atelier...
