Geiger counter testing results
I have been wanting to get my watches tested for radiation for quiet some time now. So i called my local fire department and asked if they had a geiger counter. They told me they have an old one from the Civil Air Patrol but has been recently calibrated. So he asked me to come in any time and give them the test. Here are the results.
Navy Milspec 1 was reading 750 cpm (counts per minute) on the Front and 200 cpm on the case back with most of radiation on the bezel.
Michanny reading was 500 cpm from the front and 200 cpm on the case back.
Here is the results some of the other watches in my collection:
Tr-900 No rads.
Aqua Lung no rad No rads (no surprise!)
Civilian Milspec (demo) No rads
Barrakuda No rads
The results for the Navy Milspec and Michanny are very low and considered safe to wear. Brian
