Fifty Fathoms bezel hard to turn

Sep 10, 2022,23:18 PM

I just received my Rose Gold Fifty Fathoms Flyback from service a few weeks ago and now the bezel is very hard to turn. If feels like there is gum or glue in the bezel mechanism. Anyone experience this before? P.S. I love this watch. Even in brushed rose gold it is under the radar but beautiful. I wish they came out with a rose gold bracelet for this watch.

Mine was very difficult to maneuver when new. I just made it a habit to rotate it often and after a bit it loosened up. Beautiful Fifty btw!

I might try that

Although it is very difficult. Like gum is in the bezel mechanism

It's weird, I have one that is stiff and has that slow feel like it might be dirty, another older watch that is lighter and crisper, too light as I discovered when my wife was able to rotate it the wrong way with a good twist :(

I did ask the boutique about the stiffer feeling one, they tried it and kinda shrugged and said it seems fine but when it's ready for service they could take a look at it. I get the sense they start out kinda stiff and tight and then loosen to failure ove...

I think you shouldn't use too much force anyway and have the watch checked again. On my FF (also with the brushed red gold case) turning the bezel gives the impression of a robust, reliable mechanism. It feels like a well adjusted grid. You feel every cli...

Nice FF!

I think I am going to send it back in for Blancpain to take a look at. It felt perfect when I first got it back from service; however after a few weeks it's just stuck and feels like gum is in it.

The foundation of a dive watch

The first serious dive watch. Not only for enthusiasts, even professionals must think first if they need a dive watch, BP FF is the one to wear. A bazel is very important and must be used, a tool that must work fine. BP boutique personal must take a compl...

Make sure crown screwed in. Dunk the watch in hot water then turn the bezel a few times to see if anything is under the bezel. It should free it up.

That is a good solution

Perfect fix.

I'll give this a try

I will definitely send it back in for follow up service. Thanks for the advice!

Also I will switch out the steak for the Blancpain sailcloth strap.

What happened?

Hi, can you let me know what happened after you sent in your watch to Blancpain? I'm having the same issue now with my Bathyscaphe. What did they say was the issue? Did they replace any parts? Did they charge you and how long did it take for them to resol...
