Blancpain Experiences: 50 VS 500 Limited Edition
Have been long time not buying modern watches for years while the past two months I was very lucky as I don't believed that I can get these two iconic Blancpain watches within very short time. I would like to share my joy here and thanks my Blancpain Boutique Manager that helps sourcing these two limited edition watches for me.
Last year when I knew that Blancpain had re-issued Air Command, I had checked with local Blancpain boutique but informing me that all were sold out, I just left my contact info so that when the watch had reached boutique, I could have opportunity to view it in person. Last month, I had received message from the boutique, telling me that there was one Air Command available for sales and could arrange for viewing. Without doubt, I rushed to the boutique and found the re-issued one has everything that I want. I can say that the new watch is very close to original Air Command and this watch retains its original design style but has very slight enhancement in movement and the rotor design is very impressive to me. I am happy to know that there is no addition of date window in between 4:00 and 5:00 and also, the watch does not have a big Blancpain logo stamped on the case side. It looks very smart on wrist! I think that the choice of this vintage color lume on handset and dial enhance the overall feeling of this Air command and I think Blancpain management team must do extensive researches and do listen to collector's comments for this re-issue. No wonder this watch has been sold out so quick even though it is a 500 pieces limited edition, Eventually I left the shop with a happy face
Last Week the Balncpain sales manager called me again and told me that the 50 pieces limited edition Mokarran has reached the shop and ready for my pick up as I have placed an order before. When I have the watch on hand, it is very under rated. The green dial is different from other green dial chrono Blancpain. I am very impressed about this watch, again this watch does not have date window which from my viewpoint will destroy this beautiful one piece green dial. The matt ceramic case is very stealth and the watch looks very smart on wrist. The ceramic crown turns smoothly in the case and the whole process is clean without excessive force required. I left the shop again with a happy face.....
I should write an user's report about this watch but I think other collectors here in the forum are more professional and knowledgeable than me for the write up. I do hope I can share my experiences with other collectors here about my happy finds. Anyway, thanks all for your viewing of this post!
