This is the second such watch to be offered from Phillips Geneva. I and at least one other collector sent comments on the first. After several back and forths with me, Phillips chose to rely on BP Historical. The nub was the watch relied on a special case for anti-mag. This is contrary to every watch we’ve seen as issued by the US Navy to personnel, which are always marked by the Navy with a case number and having anti-mag via the brass elements we’ve seen in those watches. Nevertheless, Phillips Geneva supports the watches as made for the US Navy in their auction descriptions. These watches may have come from the factory using spares to make them. If so, things may be clearer. In the instant watch, BP Historical may protecting the Exhibition, as it adds to the legend of our wonderful watches.
