watches from Blancpain: Ref. 2850B - Aqua Lung Grand Date , from 2005, LE 2005 I like the simplicity, the readability, the wearability ... ... the "simple" look of the movement ... the big/grand date, which switches immediately at midnight ... Together wi...

I agree!

Just this afternoon I visited the bank vault and took to my wrist a similar Aqua Lung than yours but with a Blancpain brushed (and fantastic) bracelet. I can just wonder how I am so stupid that this watch has been staying in the watch box for more than 1/...

Kari, the brushed bracelet ...

No pictures Oliver. But because I'm wearing the watch just now, I could put it to the snow and take a picture. Half an hour... Best, Kari

The 8 Days platinum, with the Cal 13 RO... Sublime very sober dial, and a bomb of a movement. Yours is really cool. Best, and thanks for the nice pics! Nicolas

"a bomb of a movement"

I agree regarding the movement, but the dial couldn´t convince me to put my money on it. Could imagine the watch without date or with grand date, but don´t like the small one. The crown of the prototype is nicer to me. ... Prototype versus production mode...

Agreed. The Date, as often, kills the dial.

It would have been better with a Grande Date, or without date at all. Maybe one day? I am a big fan of this movement, nonetheless. Best, Nicolas.

absolutely

i almost picked up one of those le aqualungs in 2007. they are just gorgeous, for all the reasons you mention. i always wish that i had got it. you're very fortunate.

No, I am not. It belongs to my father. I fall in love when I saw the first picture and so did my father. At the end he was faster than me and everybody told me not to buy it, because there already is one in the family. Still not 100% convinced if one is e...

Outstanding beauty blended with simplicity

This is definitely my next watch purchase. I've been waiting three years to acquire it. Nice to see it getting the appreciation it deserves.

Another beauty ...

with the same movement, but slightly different details. When I tried it the first time, years ago at an AD in Switzerland, it felt/looked very good on my wrist. Even when I think I am a "white metal" guy. Thanks, for sharing! Oliver

... it is indeed a beauty ;-)

Vladimir Putin is wearing Aqua Lung with rubber strap so I wanted to get a different version. I bought the watch before it became known as the Putin watch. This bracelet was really difficult to get. Finally Blancpain Boutique in Zurich managed to help me ...

Fast service ...

indeed and worth the effort. Thanks! Regarding Putin: For sure he has more than one ... ... and not only from Blancpain ... Who cares about Putin, as long as the watch is beautiful? Oliver...

No comments about him...

I just met him in a longish meeting but it was a long time ago. Those days he was just a Deputy Mayor and for sure, had either a Soviet or DDR made watch. I can't remember and not too much about the gentleman - such a grey figure. Aqua Lung deserves bette...

1 of the 2005

This was the first luxury watch I purchased, and am pleased with it to this very day (minus seeing Putin wear it). I am proud to be one of the 2005 that get to wear this watch. But alas, it appears Putin gave it away to a worker that merely asked for it. ...
