While Senna is clearly a great...
... I think it's difficult if not impossible to crown one F1 driver as the "greatest" given the myriad of automotive advancements and rule changes that have come into play over the last several years. Senna, Mansell, Proust, Ascari, Fangio, Moss, Stewart... to name but a few, my list of "greats" is long.
That being said should someone waive a wand and grant me my wish to be a professional racer I'd have been in "Gruppe B."

The current drivers are much more professional
And I'm sure they can manual shift gears just fine. If I recall correctly I've read Vettel state: for all I care give us a car with manual shift again. They will race it. BUT: I do agree with you he was a special race driver / man!

Senna was a very special driver.
Any car, any track. But I cannot forget that one of his Championships was gotten by intentionally taking out Prost. And another came about through a wacky point system. Jim Clark has to be mentioned in any discussion of "best ever" F1 drivers and drivers ...

I think Senna was a great, great driver; don't get me wrong. I just would not call him the greatest. Th documentary is a paean to him; it is not objective. And much of the literature around Senna is not objective-it's worshipful or hateful, take your pick...

There are many greats for sure...
but we all have our greatest...as I stated before what " I consider" the greatest F1 driver....anybody likes race during rain
