The Alfa has quite a bit more driving character than the BMW. No question about that.

 

I extensively tested one before buying an M4 Competition xDrive.  The handling and steering are much for fun in the AR.    Driving it is more "brutal" and less refined.  The BMW is once again more boring against a competitor.  And yet, I still bought the M4, because I was nervous about the reliability of the Alfa.  Not just internet stories for me, a good friend owned one and it was a nightmare.  Still, I love how it looked, loved that it was Italian, and I almost went for one.  The irony is I quickly got bored with the M4 and sold it 2 months later when a CT5-V Blackwing came along.  O regrets about that, and it is much more a "real" ultimate driving machine.  Fun all the time, at any speed (I do have the manual transmission, so it is not an apples to apples comparison against an auto).  If I went back in time and could only choose from the Quadrifoglio or M car, it would be the Alfa all day for me.

But it offers CarPlay in the meantime, so all good. Probably best to go with the post 2023 facelift with the triple lights and mechanical LSD 😊👍🏻

A 3 series BMW is far from fine when it comes to interior finishing…

The combination of leather and carbon fiber in the Alfa will be at least par for the course.

…and the incredible engine are the main reasons why I’m considering Quadrifoglio. Interior is secondary 😀

Out of interest, what year was your friend’s Quadrifoglio? I believe the initial release had a few issues like the fuel pump, which they addressed in later iterations.

I think his was a 2020. The one I test drove was a 2022.

The dealer let me take it out alone. It was quite a drive, and why I am confident in saying the character and driving excitement are passionate affairs, to say the least
