I wasn't thinking of the materials used, but rather the down home English country build process

Sep 15, 2019,14:43 PM

I suspect things have changed somewhat over the years but I have been to Aston, Caterham, Jaguar, Lotus and Morgan factories and I would have fitted right in to any of them. No giant Detroit assembly lines running for miles but rather cramped quarters, fogged up windows and dripping skylights... from what I can recall.

The queen visits Aston Martin in Newport Pagnell.

BUT I think all the old factories are closed or used for restoration projects.

Yet Morgan and Caterham still cranking out adorable new vanity items for Sir's admiration and purchase.

Main difference (to me) is Morgan has the more completely civilized cockpit and not forgetting the BMW engines.

But then I've owned Jag, Triumph, MG, Lotus and Caterham, but only driven 2 Morgans and a lone TVR.

Cheers,

Mike

Peter was standing, looking at the car with one of the Morgan engineers and mentioned that, whatever he or the apprentices did, they couldn't make the gap between bonnet and wings the same on both sides. One side was inevitably wider than the other. The e...
