Sun in California is brutal

Modern tops are shockingly good when it comes to sound & heat insulation. In summer apart from the humid season I enjoy the commute back home with the top down, nothing works better for me in terms of stress relief, it's like riding a bike with no helmet.... 

Also , it all depends where you drive, only in city or freeway. Topless in city is fun, on freeway only for a short period. Another thing to consider is: weekend car or every commuter. I prefer vintage for a weekend drives for many reasons, no modern car ...

Quite a savvy mechanic though, he drove his from Texas to LA, California a few years ago. No real breakdowns. I love the car, but like the early jag XKE and Lotus Europa, I’m too tall to fit easily in.
