As we are speaking about French cars, there is one worth being mentioned, a curiosity.
Honestly, I didn't know the R 12 Alpine existed! Which is normal as it was assembled in... Argentina!
Only a few hundreds were made, which costed much more than a normal R12... This explains that, most probably.
110 HP, for less than 1000 Kilos. Not the most thrilling Alpine, indeed, but not uninteresting!

Thank you for sharing the history of Alpine and Renault. I still remember dreaming of owning the R5 Alpine! My first car was a R5 but powered by the R4 engine..... I did get to drive my dad's R30 V6 once in a while
Now given that we had an R30 (see other French car thread)…
I am very curious how it drove. I was only 6 or 7 at the time so only experienced it as a passenger 🤷🏻♂️
