I know LL from Volkswagen.
Never understood why you should drive so long without bringing the car for service.
Everything which get good service works longer and better.
For example a watch which see a great watch service center on time, stay accurate.
Saving money is bad, ignoring service intervals.
Bringing stuf for service is a good way to keep people in jobs and flourish economy.
A customer stop by last week
and ask me to look at his XC70 he bought a month ago. It just stops, can you see what is wrong with it. So I take a look and send him this pic. Now his is not so happy longer because the seller told him the belt was changed not long time ago. ...
It looks like the belt is old
so at the moment my customer discuss it with the seller. The repair cost is maybe 75% of the cars value so I guess it goes to the junk yard.
belt versus chain
My car have a chain, so i have no worries. Honda. Know, Mercedes use also chains.

I know
so long people don't do longlife service and change oil at 15000km will there be no problems. If they change at 30000km the chain will break.

N47 is the engine code for 2.0L diesel , there was so many broken chains that BMW replaced those during a recall
but the 3.0L diesel had the same problem , as Jocke said LL service for these recently released TBs is death sentence...

Smart purchase. Always good to know about car technics. Even a Ford is a good and great car as the service recommendations followed up. For example my aunt drove a 16 year old Renault Twingo which was as new, because an owner handles with care.
Maintenance schedule
