I like it except for one small detail.

 

Mediocre! 

It's definitely a cool concept, but what I really dislike is this particular automated parking system that they use.  The automated parking system that they use specifically has the tires resting on a few bars with gaps between the bars.  This means the tires are resting on a broken flat surface, not a continuous flat surface.  Now I'm not a tire expert, maybe the tires of all sports cars and SUVs can handle this kind of punishment without any measurable detriment.  I'd have no qualms if the tires rested on a solid continuous flat surface like most other automated parking machines. 

Take a closer look at the picture and you'll see that the tires rest on a grate where the tire makes contact.  The "car grabber" then has a similar grate that fits through this grate to grab or deposit the car onto this set of grates. 

Still a good concept and thanks for the post!

Perhaps already discussed here, but Singapore hosts a 15-story building supercar "vending machine" housing up to 60 cars. Not sure if these first photos of the building from the outside represent the actual cars, or are photoshopped (they look rather matc...

I worked on designing the parts catalogs and service labor time books for the very first Smart cars, and we got tours of the prototype car towers, as well as a couple cars. That was about 20 years ago, I think. Cazalea

Yes, the direction from the top stopped (creative, innovative, customizable, etc) but the reality of making money eventually had to come in or the company would have been liquidated. Our project was to create a database of every part for every single car ...

Interesting. I wonder what the long- or intermediate-term effects would be on the tires.

This building is located in an industrial area and not the typical car showroom area.

I remember that condo. Not sure I like that concept. Even having an artistic car, that's still a little unusual. Even as a car person, I'm not sure I'd want a dirty car there. But I do like the concept that I can get my groceries out of my boot easily. If...
