More Le Mans prototype than F1, perhaps, but cool. I do wonder whether we'll see non-pneumatic tires before we see actual electric cars in F1. For all the talk of technology, today's F1 is more spectacle than than an accelerated testbed for road technology; that's what endurance sports cars do best. These days, F1 probably has more in common with America's Cup materials and fluid dynamics than with any actual consumer product!


I'm all in favor of safety tech, even when ugly. There's always a lot of bravado about this, but nobody likes the alternative.
