Fooled them again; how long can this keep going on?
Back in the same shop again for the 15th! time in 30 years, wouldn’t you think he would just sign it off? No. He sees too many cars and never remembers me.
Good thing too because last time it blew a radiator hose and sprayed boiling coolant around the shop and into his dyno…
That’s my Jaguar in there, passing before it was sold. I understand from the new owner that after a few years it’s failed and unable to get through without perhaps a pair of catalysts … sorry about that Tim 
The previous test (top down)
After driving for an hour getting the car warm, setting air pressures, topping fluids, adding Water-Wetter additive to prevent overheating, finding renewal paperwork, cleaning cobwebs off rear view mirror, off I went.
While waiting my turn a young sailor in a Miata stopped to ask if it was an M100 Lotus? He was so excited to see one in “real life” that we talked for 20 minutes. 
Then it was PASSED and I drove home.
More nerve-racking than visiting the doctor for lab tests!
